I was looking at it awhile ago. No shop will do this for you, and if you go to do it on your own, its going to be VERY hard. Alot of small part that can be easily over looked, and doing the clutch pedal is a giant hurdle too. I would say sell the car and get a 5 spd.

Unfortunately he is probably right. It is no small project.

All you need is the pedal assembly, shifter assembly, linkages, transmission, flywheel, clutch, and ECU out of a 5MT civic. Guage cluster too if you want to do it really clean. It shouldn't be overly difficult as long as you get all the parts.

Until you have the car torn apart and you frogt something, or you realize you need to weld a hanger for the clutch pedal, or even better, good luck finding the parts and time. Seriously its a huge task, but if you do it, tell me.

Here in NY, there's a spot that does it for 700. That includes everyting except the pedals. I've had it done to my car for less though. Honura and his boys did it for me. BTW I never changed the ECU, and the car runs fine.

the thing about doing it myself is im no car expert. the other thing about selling my car and buying a 5 speed is that ive put alot of money to my car allready like paint job, couple engine modifications, sound system and others and dont wanna have to move it all to my new car if i by a 5 speed. but i have heard of honda-acura specialist out here in the bay area. i kno about three around me soo ima call them up and see if they would do it for me.

oh and another thing, some opinions please. is it better to put down 1 grand for a manual swap or sell my car for a manual which would be cheaper BUT to take out the stuff i added to my current car, make it all stock again except for my damn paint job (which was damn clean too), and re-stuff my new 5 speed in?? im still debating....oh and pay for registration for the car again (it was about 600 for my civic now but i dont know about gettin a 5 speed).

It's easy to do. I have done 4 already. As long as you get all the parts you should be fine. There is a slot opened already for the clutch pedal. Don't sell it. There is a spot here in N.Y. that does it for $350 just labor. It's like a 2-3 hour job if you have everything.

..... Wow,, I have helped with this project.. And I dont know what all of you are talking about, but if you compare selling to car, and geting a 5 spd to doing the conversion, its much easyer, and you have more peace of mind just to sell the car, and get a 5 spd. It would be more worth it.

you said you painted it, and its really clean? Then you can get more $ out of it. Some people are willing to pay more for an auto (since the auto trannys cost more).
Just put your car in the paper and see what you might get for it. And then make up your mind.

Hell, you might be able to sell the car for as much as you can buy a clean 5 spd, and still have 1000$ left over for a paint job.
