I've replaced them a couple times without taking anything off the tranny (but the axles). Very odd, man. :dunno:

And they didn't leak? Strange. I guess you can't trust everything that the service manual says.

You have to install them evenly, but that's the only trick.

im gonna barf. %$*@!#. ok now that we know i barfed, so do we know that the seal that is barfing is between the engine and tranny?

i always hammer them in with a socket. if they dont disappear and are flush i say its all good,.

Yes, there is a seal there, but it isn't the seal the guy is talking about. h:

if it is the axle seals. I am totally sorry and lost, but with the axle in (i assume new with no pits in it, does it have lateral play?
