Sell the car and buy something with torque. Easiest answer.

you drive a honda, not many have mid-range torque. the higher rpms are your friend.

if you're allowed to swap, I'd put in a b18b or b20z. Plenty of low end and mid range. Don't worry about not having the tools... You only *need* hand tools (ratchet set, basically) and if you don't own that, you should buy one because you'll need it about a gajillion times in the future. As for engine hoists, they can be rented for $20-$40.

I don't think you're going make any serious alterations to your d16y8's powerband without FI or nitrous. :happysad:

alright, well im allowed to do a swap, but my dad asked me and said think about what ur putting in, as in money wise, and what il get out if i sell the car... so it makes me think more bout the swap as in not doing it...

also i want to ask this?
i have the vtec motor...
the 4-2-1 header design is for midrange power? what happens after midrange does the power drop like a rock or u still get power it just starts earlier?

the 4-1 is a highend power?
