yeah, but all the civics here in Japan are going N/A. There used to be 5 Japanese companies that produced and sold a turbo kit for civics, now you will only find one. At Tsukuba circuit, you are flamed for bringing your turbo to the show unless you have rights...The most winning civic is N/A...

Most women I know don't like turbo cars. :dunno: Many have asked me if my there was something wrong with my bucket because of the noises it makes. I just .

How many civics compete in F1? F1 cars have a slight displacement and engineering advantage.

Stock miatas are autocross beasts, but there's something they're not...

...accomodating...

Here's a pic of a 6' tall 255lb mechanic (my friend Richard) filling up the whole cabin of one. I like this picture. I'm 6'4" and 200lbs. I don't fit.

Your call man...

Im not talking about F1 vs. civic, im talking about the evolution of the automobile. F1 is the Holy Graile, or the Mecca of automotive evolution. Recent changes have stated that turbo is a thing of the past. like it or not... even Garrett (leading manufacturer of turbos) knows this, thats why theyve focused all their R&
D into devoloping new technology. and like I said before, in the civic time attack scene, turbo included, the most winning car is N/A (the turbo cars are up to 410hp)
Be a Man ( or a woman)... no artificial stimulants here, pure dna...

Heh. I'm 6'0" 185 lbs so I should fit but feel scrunched. My wife's car is an SUV crossover and we've got a baby. I can't sell the civic for the miata because I need a back seat.

As for turbo, my take is power is power. Each technology has it's own trade offs. And I really don't care what the current fleeting "trend of thought" is. I'd put in an electric supercharger if someone could figure out how to actually make a working one. F1 is for racing. My goal is the jack of all trades car (yes, ace of none). Really, I just want one car that I can use for everything because it's MY car. What I like about turboing an economy conscious designed car is that I can wind it up for power and keep it low for economy.

The miata would definitely be a weekend car, although I can see myself commuting to work in it.

My dream "everyday" car is a 4 door compact hatchback ~3000 lbs RWD or AWD or FWD w/LSD turbocharged DOHC that gets 26/32mpg with scalpel like handling.

EDIT: oh... I forgot to mention... and RELIABLE. *Honda* reliable.

So is an electrically assisted hybrid car "cheating"?

N/A, turbo, supercharged, nitrous, whatever. You get your power from burning gasoline. Isn't F1 going N/A to make the competition less driven by induction technology and more focus on a "plain motor"? How is F1's motivations anywhere near relevant to the average consumer driver?

I never said anything about cheating. Im just talking about direction. Chimchim seems to know where he's going. F1 motivations always trickle down to the consumer because its the cutting edge. where do you think VTEC came from? disc brakes? fuel injection? computer controlled engines? if this isnt consumer technology then I should be driving a 3 ton US SUV...

Here's one for you. One of my friends has a R32 Golf. VR6 powered AWD hatch... I dunno if it comes in a fodo, but it's got a big comfy interior, and a burly German growl. I didn't know you could get a VR6 AWD Volkswagon until I met him. It's NA, pretty beefy, and easy on the eyes. He's going to turbocharge it in a few months once he graduates from college.

Here's his car.

Yeah, the R32 meets every single one of my needs.... except reliability. Which is a total show stopper for me.

I think I have car requirements more similar to a European.... nono... a person of the JDM. Yeah that's it. Except, I'm not Euro because I can't accept German car level of reliability and I'm not Nihon because I care about emissions.
