Heh. I'm 6'0" 185 lbs so I should fit but feel scrunched. My wife's car is an SUV crossover and we've got a baby. I can't sell the civic for the miata because I need a back seat.
As for turbo, my take is power is power. Each technology has it's own trade offs. And I really don't care what the current fleeting "trend of thought" is. I'd put in an electric supercharger if someone could figure out how to actually make a working one. F1 is for racing. My goal is the jack of all trades car (yes, ace of none). Really, I just want one car that I can use for everything because it's MY car. What I like about turboing an economy conscious designed car is that I can wind it up for power and keep it low for economy.
The miata would definitely be a weekend car, although I can see myself commuting to work in it.
My dream "everyday" car is a 4 door compact hatchback ~3000 lbs RWD or AWD or FWD w/LSD turbocharged DOHC that gets 26/32mpg with scalpel like handling.
EDIT: oh... I forgot to mention... and RELIABLE. *Honda* reliable.
