Exhaust problem, looking for suggestions
Ok, so most of you know that I problem with my exhaust pipe in October, so I welded it back up and haven't had a leak since, but I did have this annoying knocking sound. It sounded like there was something loose in the cat.
After further discovery the other day, I came to find a couple of problems. When Josh and I put the pipe from the cat to the resonator on the second time, we put it on upside down, thus the angle of the pipe pushes the resonator almost up against the bottom of the floor pan. I would remove the bolts and flip it over, but I am afaid that they are heat locked, and will have to be cut, then drilled to get them out. I used a wire to hold the resonator away from the floor pan, but I think that is just a very temporary fix.
The other thing that is wrong is when I took out the pipe to inspect it, I also changed the gasket from my DP to my cat since it was the one that came on it when it was new. Now I can get my DP and cat close enough to bolt them back together with the spring bolts (or at least where they function properly)
On this one I was thinking about taking 2 C clamps and tightening down one side some, then the other and go back and forth till the DP and Cat are back close together. You think this will work??
On the pipe issue, do you think I should just wait till I get my P28 and hi flow cat to do anything about it, or cut it, drill it and fix it so I dont have to use a wire to hold it away from the floor pan?
Go.

I would like to fix it permenantly, or at least till I buy another exhaust in a couple of years.... but this pipe has a lot of life left in it still...
I thought you guys would have a lot more input on this....
I tried to fix it last night, but no luck. Of course I only had about 20 minutes since I had to pick up the chica to go out....
