i never had a problem with the wrench andy has for my 99 and a 03 crv. just got to experiment with the angles to get it in. clamp it once to crush and a turn it a little to loosen it up.

I've never seen it before. Where can I get one?
you can get that pretty much at any place that sells tools, with the exception of sears. at least i haven't seen it there. little tool shops to mat tools and snap on will sell it.
it'll pretty much work on anything except for some cars and trucks that has no clearance. then, the plier type, or those strap types will work. i have the one i shown and the plier type and those has worked for all cars i've seen.

I just basically lay the pliers up against the alternator and you can move it about a 1/8 turn each time. It only takes one or two to break the filter loose and then just unspin it by hand. That little rubber dampener is a pain in the ass on my '98 EX but it fits. I remember my hybrid being easier but I also didn't have any PS in the way.

I don't like the cup style filters that go over the end. I have about 4 different sizes but they never seem to be tight enough. I used to have to lay a strip of sandpaper inside and force it over without the paper falling off to even get them to work. I bought my pepboys wrench and never looked back.

if you have a 01+, use 5w20 . it's the oil that's reccomended by honda. if you drive a car that's 00 and older, you'll be fine using either 5w30 or 10w30

but i was really refering to tool stores/suppliers more than parts stores.

What is your theory behind this statement. The weight of the oil applies to the temperature. The year of teh car makes no difference what so ever. If we followed everything the manufacturer recomended we'd all be changing our oil every 7,500 miles.

Don't reply unless you know WTF you are talking about.
