Default Idle too low???

I've never really noticed this on my car until I got my CF hood on. But what is the idle of a 93 DX when it's been warmed up? The reason I ask is because when I first start (cold idle) my car, it runs fine and when I'm stopped at a light, everything else seems to be fine. But when the car has been properly warmed up (around 10-15 mins. of driving) and I'm stopped at a light, the (passenger side) hood shakes like crazy and I noticed that the idle seems a little low. I don't really think that this is normal.

Things that I have considered is that I did have my stock throttle body bored out so I don't know if it has anything to do with the throttle cable or that little screw that is supposed to be adjusted since both were probably altered during the removal/installation. Do you guys think that this has something to do with my weird idle problem? Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I get that sometimes too. Are you still in gear when you are stopped at a light? I noticed if I shift out of gear [neutral] and back into gear, the idle goes back to normal.

Thank you! Exactly. I have to put it neutral just to see my hood stop shaking. But the thing is, I have to keep it in neutral because if I go back in gear, it shakes again until I hit the gas again. h:

I have sort of the same problem with my car... but its automatic. The issue with my car is the my alternator is being strained which is straining the motor, but this is only at red lights and only with everything on, they told me because I have several stuff hooked up that I would need a bigger alternator.

But my friend has a stick and they told him that it could be a vacuum problem.

?????

Mine's an auto as well, but I don't really have anything that would strain the alternator though. It might be a vacuum problem...

hmm...i guess that rules out my thoughts on a faulty clutch on mine. i thought it was maybe my master cylinder on my clutch again...but since you guys have in too...i dunno.

im not reading ALL of that, so if i missed something i apologize...

since it doesnt rattle at a light, i would imagine it wouldnt be a vacuum problem, but it _could be_

your idle is higher when oyu first start your car, thats normal, thats what a car's engine is designed to do...sort of like a choke, (in fact, i think it _is_ a choke in a way, but now theyre automatic), after your engine achieves a warmer state the idle will slow down, and Honda engines at idle are barely running. you could check the slack on your accelerator, and you could proly turn the idle up if it really bothers you.

btw, you can have vacuum problems with auto or stick, so that is irrelevant. Vacuum problems are quite a bit more noticeable in an auto...braked at a light at idle, you wont much notice them under any sort of throttle. its a ****ty feeling, car shakes like a damn rocket, at least it did on my old v8 260.

My car idled badly until I gave it a tune up. Plugs, cap and rotor. Runs fine now.
