What is your fuel pressure set at or is it stock?
Also try running colder spark plugs and retard your timing alittle.
That will help alittle with any detonation but I run 93 octane.

ahh i HATE when ppl say stuff like that. you can't just say it like that. it COMPLETELY depends on SO MANY factors. and i didn't even see the kid post his setup so how would you know whats safe or not

and seriously, fuel management is where MOST of your turbo money needs to go. don't skimp out. the management is the only thing that will keep your car alive, if somethin goes wrong say bye bye to the engine and turbo.

new headgasket and arp head studs are highly recommended. d's heads lift under higher boost but a blown head gasket is no fun trip. so get a new headgasket and arp head studs. i would go with an oem headgasket. i trust oem's quality and thats it. idk cometic could be right up there aswell but thats just my opinion

uberdata is a GREAT engine management and your already obd1 so all oyu have to do is get your stock p28 ecu socketed and get that bitch some dyno tuning

get your self some dsm450 blue top injectors, or some rc's. the rc's are more expensive tho. take the 450's and have them cleaned and flow balanced-it'll be worth it.

intercooler is optional. its not going to make or break your engine, but it will help with the performance of your setup. it does lower boost pressure a bit however but will cool the air down which leads better performance.

fuel pump and fpr are deffinitly recommended! your stock ones will be peaked with the big injectors. however i do know lots of ppl running on stock pumps and fpr's. not saying its the best idea but there r ppl out there.

uh thats all i can think about right now.
hop on www.turbod16.com and www.homemadeturbo.com if your not already a member and start reading up and searching.

goodluck,

Luke

I say that because that is exactly what my buddy who owns a tuner speed shop did.
He ran a 96 hatch non-vtech completely stock.
Upgraded to rc 310 injectors, aeromotive 1:1 rrfpr, safc to control the bigger injectors, walboro fuel pump, cometic hg,T3-T40e with a front mount intercooler, tial bov, tial wastegate, missing link. Put down alittle over 200hp to the wheels.

I am running a homemade kit on my 92 cx hatch...cx bottom end,96 civic head non-vtech,Saab t3,walboro fuel pump, cometic hg,aeromotive 1:1,Yonaka front mount, Monza-saab style bov, stainless ebay turbo manifold and I retarded timing alittle more than factory specs..currently 2psi on stock injectors and higher fuel pressure and I added a PWR radiator and fan to cool better....310 rc injectors waiting to go in along with my manual boost controller. Car runs rich at idle and stoich under boost Car has 90,000 miles on block and 45,000 on head.

I am just surprised that stock fpr and injectors can support 8psi of boost

his stock injectors are deffinitly maxing out on 8psi. the fpr and pump i know can hang in there, idk with 8psi but anything less than that and they'll hang in but its a very good idea to upgrade!

sorry gocartracer i shouldn't have lashed out like that but i didn't see the guy post his setup yet and u gotta see what their setup is before you can say whats safe or not. you know what i mean.

if hes using a 12:1 disc for fuel management, can the stock fuel pump really handle 96 psi? i imagine it would go lean once he hit full boost.

ya i worded that wrong. the stock pump and fpr can handle moderate amounts of boost. what i meant to say was im not sure how well they'd be workin on 8 pounds.
