its not an issue of pounds, its an issue of hp. 8 pounds on an rhb5 is not going to produce the same power as 8lbs on a t3 super60. the safe number on a well tuned setup with stock internals is <=200whp for a D.
i've heard of 250 and i think even 270whp on a stock bottom end BUT DONT test your luck. i don't know how long they lasted or what else was done on it so.
but boosted d's have been around enough to know 200whp is a good cut off.
again key word is well-tuned tho. even 2psi could ruin ur engine if its completely outta wack.
goodluck!

You can easily run 10 psi on stock internals as long as you have a cometic turbo hg and at least 310 injectors with an upgraded fuel pump and external FPR. Oh and it will help too if you retard your timing alittle.
But yes it also does depend on the turbo your using as well as if your using an intercooler or not.
I currently am running a Saab T3 on a non-vtec 16 valve stock engine, intercooled, upgraded hg,upgraded fuel system currently running stock cx injectors and higher fuel pressure. Am boosting 2-3 psi running stoich under boost rich at idle. I am going to up the boost as soon as I put in the 310 injectors I have.
My buddy ran a 96 hatch non vtech with stock internals, same fuel setup with 310rc injectors ,intercooled, cometic hg and a larger T3-T40e boosted at 10 psi and dyno'd over 200 hp at the wheels. He sold the car to his cousin who upped the boost and blew the Cometic hg.
Hope this info helps
