Default Speedometer Sticks

I have a 2000 Civic EX. Starting several days ago, after start-up on the first acceleration, the speedometer sticks at 20 mph (regardless of the actual vehicle speed). After a mile or so, it jumps up to an accurate reading. Any ideas what could be wrong???

I'm guessing the gauges are not laying flat. Hit any huge bumps lately?

Check the plug on the tranny to make sure it's secure. Then pull the cluster out and make sure all of the connections are tight. Other than that You got me-mine did that at 209,000 miles. The one I have in now is at 210,500 (so far so good).

You may have a bad speed sensor (the first plug you check).
