Checking CEL Codes?
Ok, I am at work and found a website that allows me to see what the CEL codes mean, and I remember seeing on HAN how to check the codes with a paperclip (or jumper), I heard all you had to do was jump 2 pins in a socket, but I dont know where this socket is ?
Please somone help me out, my car threw a CEL light last night and I had to drive my wifes to work (FREAKIN TOYOTA ECHO) :eh:
The only recent things I have done is, wired my radar detector to my remote wire on my amp, and I have it grounded to the same wire that my Vtec light is grounded to,,, so I thought maybe that was it? I need to know the exact location of the plug and how to check the code (I have the chart that tells me what the codes are...)
1,000,000 thanks to whoever helps me out...

If you don't know how/can't/don't want to get the CEL on your own, take it to AutoZone, Checkers, etc. and have them read it for you - it is free - then go back to your computer and do some research. That is what I do.........
I dont want to drive that far, the closest auto zone is about 25 miles, and the Schucks here charges you 25.00, and if I had to get to auto zone I would have to take the freeway... I dont feel like phucking up my motor... I am just geting ready to boost the damn thing.!
AHH YESS I just got home thanks so much! I will post the results, I dont think its anything major, still runs fine, just did a deep clean of the motor and might have goten somthin wet I wasnt suposed to... Its either that or its my Vtec Sylenoid... BRB
I need more help... I just looked for the plug, and I cant find it, I understand where it is, but on the website it says its in a green cover above kicker pannnel, and the only one I found is a 3 prong plug..? I will be right back and tell you what color the wires are....
Ok, nevermind I just found out its in the same green cover thingy, it was just hiding, I will post the results in about 5 min tops...
Thanks again soooooo freakin much...
