do i need a new axle?
i have a 98 civic ex...i was replacing a stud..took off the 32mm axle nut...but i guess when i took it off i stripped the shaft part...i bought a new nut...but that wasn't the problem...do i need to change the whole axle?...if so is there a diy site? thanks
Its pretty easy, basically drain your tranny, then on whichever side the axle is on, disconnect the controll arm from both the subframe and the fork on the shock. then you can just swing the whole assembly out of the way, pry the axle loose from the tranny and hammer it free from the spindle. If done right it looks like this.
Easier than seperating the ball joints.

working yourself.
