Well you can get a gsr setup if your car does not have rear brakes. Brembos are nice. Hell there is a bunch of things you can do. Try searching on google for civic brake up grades. You should be able to find something there.

well firstly, if you were speeding on a wet road then you kind of deserve to get into an accident, I just hope that no-one else was injured. I like the way that you put it down to the quality of your brakes than down to drivers ability to react to the situation.

The brakes on your car should be more than sufficiant for your cars output. If you still feel that you have to upgrade, try first for upgrading to discs all round if you don't have it already, bigger discs up front. You could go big brand brakes, but on a stock car, why bother.

The only thing that might save your ass in this case is ABS, and you're better off buying another car with it than trying to transplant it into a car without.

ive speeded on wet roads all the time... in my bimmer and in my towncar(god i miss the towncar) . i bought this civic for my mother , unfortunately im stuck driving it cause my moms dosnt like to drive. my mistake was not doing reaserch cause i thought ABS would be standard by now, my towncar was 10 years older than the civic and it came standard, as for the bimmer .... sh*t its a bimmer i dont even need to type about shifting and braking (pure exelence). i should have bought a integra , now im stuck dumping money into this car to make it NYC street standard.

and to flatfourfan if a civic brakes brakes are more than sufficient then you need to get a test drive or something of a luxury car , thats when you see brake output

AND AS FOR THIS QOUTE "I like the way that you put it down to the quality of your brakes than down to drivers ability to react to the situation. " YOU ARE RIGHT UNTIL THE CAR PASSES 30 MPH. LOL (you are full of it like george w bush)

please dont reply " NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND"

man did you even read your reply.....you blabbed on for 12 lines and said nothing constructive.....civic brakes are more than sufficant for a stock motor...My money is still on the driver being the problem.......go back to your bimmer and leave the civic for someone who doesn't need all those driver aids.........

You're 16 right?

ABS is no fun. Don't waste the money to upgrade the brakes on a stock vehicle. Change the brake pads if you're so worried about it. I've got a 97 coupe with no ABS and I haven't ever unintentionally slid in the rain. Its just experience, in addition to being a safe driver. Granted in NYC, "safe" probably has a different meaning than here in BFE, Indiana, but its just common sense.

From my experience driving others' cars, ABS doesn't really help too much.

i shouldnt even reply because after your second post,..you just sound like a fawking idiot,..but since we are talking about brakes,..this means safety and so ill try to give you some help

if you can, go ahead and source out a rear disc swap from a GSR,..after you got disc all the way around,..go with brembo blank rotors with hawk or axxis brake pads,...also i suggest steel braided brake lines and some new brake fluid

Hmmm... let's see... should I spend the money to install better brakes so I can speed and have a false sense of security to make me feel like I'm in total control and likely get in an accident which could possibly kill someone else because of my recklessness, or should I just not speed in the rain cuase it's dumb and irresponsible?
