I just had the oil done at 129,000 miles and i now got like 130,500. So i filled it up and the car smiled at me and we're in love once again. But she is still dealing with the problem with the speedometer. The speedometer seemed to show some life when i pulled off then 3 seconds later and died. The whole cluster works but the speedometer. I thought there was another problem cus my RPM seems to idle near 500 which from time to time shoots up to like 1200 when i put it in park but it goes back down to 500 i dont know what thats about but i heard thats pretty normal. Well thanx for the help guys if u still got comments let me know. Also thanx Sam, Honura and the other people who decided they would be nice enough to help me out.

I got into the habit of checking oil EVERY gas change, I suggest you do the same , so you dont go through this problem again
\Anyway swap out your cluster for another persons cluster, if your speedo is still dead then its either a ground or your VSS (vehicle speed sensor) thats died.
Anyway for the power surging , does it do it when your holding on brakes? It could be a small vacuum leak somewhere.
http://www.honda.co.uk/owner/CivicMa...df/23-a112.pdf will tell ya abit about all the sending units and grounds that the cluster uses..
anyway for removal of cluster just search forums, its been talked about x300000000000000

Well the oil problem wasnt the problem but i went to a mechanic and he saw how i was missing something in my engine compartment. The part that holds the coolant/antifreeze for the radiator was GONE!! I mean the radiator was hooked up to the engine but that lil part u pour the stuff in was gone. So i had to order that part which costed e 50 bucks. The mechanic mentioned how there was a lil sound coming from the area near the timing belt so i dont know what thats all about. Ive just noticed the Odometer stopped working as well. Im like sheesh I hope this doesnt cost me 2 weeks worth of pay cus i cant afford that right now. O and i cant check the CEL code on my car cus i dont have that plug i looked just like the website said and i couldnt find diddly squat.

you dont use a plug, just jump a wire between the two terminals.
Only Honda uses the plug , and all it is is a jumper

Also, was it the cap that was missing? I imagine thatd be a hard one to miss , but maybe im wrong.
Sound could be an old timing belt... or a vacuum leak... "a sound" is a very general statement.
Its a sound like something is stressed and about to break but i dont know what it is. I think im gonna end up taking it to the Honda Dealership to get it looked at since this is my only car and i have alot of dreams and hopes for this car so i know for a fact that i gotta get this taken care of and not let it just sit around so i plan on just taking it to them and have them rape me with no lube. The dude at the dealership told me it could be from 80-160 for checking to see what caused the check engine light. Plus theres the high possibilty that there computers diagnostics crap wont be able to help my car out since its so old and they gonna have to do it manually with a strobe light or something like that. I went to autozone but they said they can only do cars from 95 and up which eliminates my car. I might try pep boys and see what they say. Im just trynna find someone who will do it without me having to go to the dealership cus i know they gonna have a field day with me.

OBD1 is still usable...
You need to stop wasting money, buy a haynes or helms manual, and figure out how to do some stuff on your own, if anything itll be a good learning experience, and if your afraid you wont have your car for a day, get the hell on HAN when its not running, post pics, and tell us the problem, and itll be solved in no time. I mean really its not worth taking it to the stealership just for them to jump a wire between the two diagnostic ports, look up the code, and tell you what it means, when you have all these resources from just this website to look at.
Anyway, do as you please, but I think it would be a good learning experience for you anyway.

Yep!
because I was a lazy dick my cusin had to spend $95 to change the rotor inside the distro cap. Now that hurts. Something that could have cost us less then $20. Just because I was lazy. DO YOU KNOW HOW PISSED I WAS!!!!!!?
