Default ball joints

I'm currently swapping out my old front brakes out of my 95 Hatch and replacing them with GSR front brakes. I have the entire GSR front brakes and suspension still intact and want to verify that disconnecting the brakes at the knuckle and tie rod and putting the brakes on that way wouldn't cause any problems. Also, what type of tools are required to disconnect the ball joint holding the knuckle and tie rod together? Thanks.

Get a balljoint puller at pepboys very helpful. Besides that some pliers for the pins and metric sockets.

Now that I've detached the ball joint, I'd like to reattach it. I believe that I have to buy a new rubber thing that goes in the ball joint. It does not contain the same firmness that it originally had. I can only screw the castle nut so much before the thread begins screwing along with the nut. Can anyone confirm this and tell me where I could get my hands on that new rubber thingy? Is the Honda parts store my only option?

nah ball joint boots should be available almost anywhere. try atuozone and the like. honda will change and arm and leg and you will probably have to wait on them to be shipped in. engery suspension also has replacement boots. the joint should quit moving once it's in the arm and you can tighten downt he castle nut without a problem. if push comes to shove use an air ratchet to get it on

I have the Energy Suspension Master Kit for my car. It comes with bushings for the upper ball joint, the lower ball joint, and the tie rod endlink. How exactly are these supposed to be installed. No instructions were given regarding these bushings and I want to make sure that I don't install these incorrectly.

pop your boots off. they are held on with this ring of metal, just pry that off. unfortunatly you can't reuse it with the Energy Suspension ones. slide your new boot into place the compression will hold it in place. make sure you pack then new boot with plenty of grease.

thats right, its like an e-clip of sorts, just use a little bitty screwdriver and you should be able to get around it.
