same shit happends to me, its annoying especially when driving with the ac turning off and on and screwing with the rpms. I just released [Reomoved] some freon (r134) from the low side and it seems to be better but not perfect. oh, and can someone tell me if it's normal for green crap to come out of the low side?

seems like the clutch or field coil is going bad if the compressor isnt spinning but the belt is...that or the compressor is seizing up inside and can cause costly repairs like replacing the compressor, condensor and hoses

edit: is there any signs of oil leaking from the compressor? lets hope its not and its just the clutch/field coil thats going bad

where is the field coil, and what can i do to check it to make sure it is fine, and how can i check the clutch

no there isnt any oil leaking from the compressor

how much would a field coil be? could the clutch on the compressor be changed?

the field coil is inside the compressor pully, to get to it you would have to take out the compressor, take off the clutch plate and then the pulley...i wouldnt suggest doing that...uh...but the wires coming from the compressor, you can check the resistance of the field coil...get a multimeter have one connector touching the bare metal of the compressor and the other connector to the wire that goes to the condensor fan (disconnect this plug to test)...resistance should be 3.05-3.35 omhs at 68F...if not probably needs to be replaced
