Motor trashed in my 95 civic, replacement ideas???
Whats DD? and What the hell are you talking about the B20 doesent get the best gas mileage because its made for the CRV? They had them in cars befor the CRV.... Who cares about gas if all you care about is performance?

i just looked up a little on the b20z and b20b crv engines, if you are going to swap, make sure you get the b20z from the 99-01 crv's, they have about 20 more horse then the b20b 96-98 crvs. If you were going to maybe add boost later on, a b18b would be a better engine. It has lower compression then the b20's. If you were thinking of building for boost, a b20z would be a sick setup.
here is some good info on the b20's

I know you said you were just thinking to keep it basic, but in case you wanted to know...

My question:
What is the most practical motor swap to add a little power but keep my car mostly stock?
I don't mind swapping my computer and wiring harness but getting something that will bolt up to my motor mounts would be nice.
Even a v-tec 1.5 would be an improvement but while I'm doing this I might as well do it right. The only thing is time is kind of an issue. I don't have all summer to be doing a huge project. Any sugestions?
