Default Motor trashed in my 95 civic, replacement ideas???

The story first:
I was going through a puddle that ended up being a whole lot deeper than I thought it was going to be. I have an AEM cold air intake on my 1.5 non-vtec car and the puddle, AEM, and high speed weren't a happy combination. The motor hydrolocked and threw a rod.

My question:
What is the most practical motor swap to add a little power but keep my car mostly stock?

I don't mind swapping my computer and wiring harness but getting something that will bolt up to my motor mounts would be nice.

Even a v-tec 1.5 would be an improvement but while I'm doing this I might as well do it right. The only thing is time is kind of an issue. I don't have all summer to be doing a huge project. Any sugestions?

If you have to swap out the engine anyways, go with a B series, easy swap and a lot more power. Althought you really only have to swap out the D series longblock, if you're sticking with that, go with a z6

If you want to save money and not look for big power, stick with a USDM D16Z6, JDM SOHC ZC, or JDM D15B.

What's involved in getting a B series to fit? Who makes the motor mounts and how much are they?

Anything is better than what you had. Got for a B series or H series...lol it doesn't matter...
