It's just a cast alumium pan, if the car bounces and the weight gets slammed down on the pan, it won't be good, it could dent the pan or damage the pickup inside. Everytime I had to set and engine down, I'd take an old tire and lay the engine on top of the that to protect the pan.

I've seen a 4th gen DX hatchback carry a B18 no problem...just to add confidence in that issue.

As far as an engine lift, you may want to see about renting one or something. I'm not saying it CAN'T be done without one, but it may save you some headaches.

LOL!!!! FYI... I just got a video of a couple of guys with a V8 gasoline engine-powered chainsaw. The two of them pick it up, and cut through a 10' trunk like butter. They just basically drop the thing and it goes right through it. Hilarious.

I think one of those guys could lift any Honda engine without much trouble by themselves, though. The clip is from a lumberjack competition.

My car's a 5th gen DX Coupe but thanks for the info. Also, I don't really think I'm going to install the engine myself. I definitely lack the knowledge and wouldn't want my car out of commision for a long period of time if I can't figure something out and have to start reading / asking questions. I know the helm's manual is good but a book can only teach so much. Although, I think I'm gonna start saving now (after I finish getting the stereo in my car and tints rolled on) and see how much I have next summer to buy an engine / parts. I would be nice to get everything together and do it all at once rather than part by part. You guys really are going off on this post. Thanks for all the info.
