the ps belt runs from the motor towards the front of the car
i say you'll save 30+ lbs if you ditch the whole thing for a manual rack.
that's 30 lbs off the front the of the car.

i'd think that with your level of autocrossing, that removing PS would throw off your driving techniques a lot. I figured by now youd already have it taken out. Let me tell you, no PS sucks. I tried it, really slows down my turning and reaction.

were they civic with disabled PS, or ones that didnt come with it? I tend to think that civics that didnt come with it handle fine. it just seems like the disabled PS makes it hard.

Also you might not be used to a car WITHOUT PS if you originally had one.

I agree... I find a disabled power rack to be much nicer to drive than either a manual rack or functioning power rack... The only time it has caused me any trouble is when I was parallel parking... and after spending a lot of time off-roading in my buddy's 84 toyota pickup with 12" wide tires (do this if you want to get ripped arms
h: ), cranking a disabled integra power rack is a peice of cake.
And just for your info, Mike, my A/C weighed 38 lbs altogether. Plus about 30 for p/s, and a trunk-mounted battery, and thats close to 100 lbs off the front tires.
