Default Clutch installation

Hi all,

I think I will attempt to replace my clutch on my 98 Civic with D16Y8 this summer. I have the service manual but could someone tell me in simple terms what needs to come out and in which order, what tools are required and any special tips or shortcuts.

Thx

You don't bleed the tranny.

If you take the tranny out (which you will with a clutch replacement), you would do well to drain the fluid and replace it.

I will be doing a clutch/flywheel on a '99 EX on Sat. If I quit being lazy about it I'll do a DIY on it.

And take some pictures if you can. That would really help out.

I was going to attempt to come up with a list and order of instructions but if WCS is gonna do it, I'll pass. As for a speical tip/shortcut, when you need to remove your axles, try just undoing the upper control arm bolts to the engine bay. That supposedly saves time compared to trying to get those ball joints seperated. I haven't used this method yet but 2 people I know have done it with luck.

Would I need an alignment after undoing the control arms? How about when using the standard method (ball joints)?
