I called the dealer last week on my 98 LX and they told me the warranty was only extended to 50K miles. I went to my local Honda mechanic and he found a good used one and replaced it.

I have to give this thread a bump. The exhaust manifold on my '98 Lx cracked and I took it to the dealership, and sure enough, it was fixed for free. The car has 51k on it. Thanks to 18secFerio for his help. This thread should be bumped up on a regular basis just to get the word out there.

Default Where does the manifold cracks in most of the cases?

Is the crack usually in the same place or people see cracks in different places on the manifold?

every time I've seen it, its right around where the o2 sensor goes into the manifold. right around that ring, and its usually starts from where the sensor screws into it....

When I picked the car up, I asked the service guy how much it would have cost for everything if it wasn't covered. He said "a little under a grand." I was like You are a life saver. I owe you a case of beer (or in your case, a really fat bag of something else :naughty: )

Sure wish this applied to my '98. I wonder why the warranty is different.
