So does it have to be cracked, and if they replace it, will they also replace the cat?

being cracked helps, but mine was even throwing a code.....

the cat is built into the header, so yes, they will replace it. Actually, the cat was what was throwing my CEL off in the first place.....

Cool! I just got an emissions test and my cat gave a code also. You think they will also replace the O2 sensor? Can't wait to call in on Monday!

they'll replace the o2 sensor if its bad.

however, when they replaced my manifold, my o2 sensor was fine, so they didn't change it out....

:chuckles:

send your manifold to someone who's still under 150k, and let them take care of it

Just to let you all know. I had called American Honda @ 800-999-1009 about our cracked manifold on our 99 civic DX. Had a Honda mechanic verify that the manifold was cracked. The next day I got a call from the case manager and said that Honda would take care of it 100%. We have 103,000 miles on the car. We have an appt this Friday to get it changed out. Outstanding service from Honda.
