96-97 LX/DX/HX exhaust manifolds! (read me if yours is cracked)

The problem is, when you put the header on, you have to get a converter from an EX as ours has the manifold and convertor as one piece. You also need a different 'B' pipe between the convertor and muffler.
Believe me, I considered it, but it was $600+ compared to $0

oh yea :doh: i didnt take into cosideration that the dx/lx mani's had the cat built into them so you would have to get another cat also, my bad.

Might wanna check out www.inlinefour.com. They sell used manifolds. Not the best solution, but hey, it's better than nothing.

sounds kind of like a puffing sound coming from the manifold. you can tell by looking at the mani by looking at it and seeing a crack.

also, you usually get a metallic grind-sound when you rev up high enough. Mine would make that noise around 5200rps or so. Sometimes this is misdiagnosed as a loose heat sheild, or it was in my case anyways.

if you have an lx or dx with a crack in your OEM header, then yes. Free cap and rotor, oil change, plugs, etc.

Hey i just got my 96 del sol S (d16y7) manifold replaced for free and the oil change, plaugs, plug wires, and rotor cap. SOunds alot better and runs smoother. thanks for the info
