I know this guy and he's looking for an engine to swap into his hatch. Is there any information someone could give on what would be needed for the B16A2 swap.

Would an OBD I or OBD II ECU work? Any info on what needs to wired up.

Thanks in advance fellas.

If it came down to a race between two identical cars, identical drivers, only difference being the motor, it would be damn close. Really the only basis to make this decision is what your preference is. If you like waiting for a strong power kick at the top of the tach, the b16a is for you. If you like putting your foot down and feeling the car pull strong and then have the fun stop earlier, the b18b is for you.

I personally would prefer the b18b out of the two. Torque = versatility.

Turbo B18B > turbo B16A.

Why?

Displacement.

Displacement.

b16a = more compression

more compression = more power per lbs of boost.

b16a = better gearing = better acceleration

b16a = longer power band

B16A = no torque

B16A = needs to rev to high hell to make power

B16A = short gears = more highway revs

B16A = more compression = less aggressive tuning or knock knock knock!

B16A = shorter deck

239cc's is a big difference in a four cylinder. :fawk:

no honda's have torque

turbo = flatter power band

more highway revs? are you serious. were talking power, not vaginal discomfort

more compression turbo = less room for error, but doesn't necessarily mean knock knock.

yes. it does have a better rod to stroke ratio than the b18b

Haven't driven many Honda V6's, eh? They're pretty well off.

I'm talking longetivy and cost.

Forgot to mention that too, a B16A needs high test gas, a B18B does not.
