Civic with LS HARD TO SHIFT?
Hello I could use a little help. I just put a LS swap in my 99 Honda Civic. The problem is that it is really hard to shift especially 1st and 2nd. What could the problem be? Transmision Oil? Clutch?
If the tranny oil wasn't changed with the swap (which doesn't make much sense, but you never know) change it first. Stop by your local Honda dealership and grab 3 bottles of Honda MTF fluid. It's about $5 a bottle but it's good stuff. B-series trannies take 2.2 or 2.3 bottles, I can't remember which. Just fill the upper hole till it starts to pour back out and a funnel with a tube attached is very useful. I'd also bleed/change the clutch fluid (it's just standard DOT3 brake fluid, watch you don't get any on your paint) to make sure there's no air. Hopefully that will loosen it up.

If it's not the fluid, I'd have my money on it being the bolt at the bottom of the shifter too tight. What shift linkage did you use? If you welded it up, it could be too long, so it's binding....
That could be a big possiblity? Did you pull the drain plug and nothing came out?

i had the same problem, it was the slave cylinder. no expensive at all. and when you are bleeding your clutch line have someone press the pedal all the way down and then open the bleeder valve. keep holding the pedal down until all the air/bubbles are out close it up.
So how can I tell if I have a bad slave cylinder? Also someone was saying something about how a bolt could be on too tight. Can you explain which bolt or show me a pic. I really appreciate all yalls help
