Default Help!!

Well to start of I have a 98 CIvic Ex of course...hense the name...

Yesterday I installed 4 new tokico illumina shocks, installed a rear ingalls camber kit and 4 brand new 17 inch rims. Install went fine on all 4 then I took it for a test drive...

The ride is nice and smooth like I was expecting but when I go over bumps there is a rattling noise coming from the back tires or back wheel well. I folded the back seats down to see if I could maybe hear something in the trunk but nothing. The noise was coming from under the floor from the wheel well. I double checked my trunk and looked under the mat to make sure it was nothing in there. I had my girl drive the car over some bumps and its coming from the wheel well but can't tell what it is.

I took it home and took off one of the rear wheels and checked everything. The bolt going through/holding the shock to the arm was nice and tight. Looked in the trunk and the washers on top of the Shock are tight. Evrything on the shock is seated just like it was supposed to be, just like it is in the front. The camber kit is bolted tight into the body of the car and the bolt holding the camber kit to the arm is tight as well. I figured maybe the bolts keeping the camber kit from moving in and out were lose but they weren't either. I have no idea what it is. The front has no noise at all....beside when I go up the slant into my neighborhood the front makes a squeek/scrape noise but I think I might need to raise it up some since I have the bigger wheels on now...so I don't suspect it to be the shocks or wheels. This pisses me off cause I took my time installing everything and this has to happen. Grrr But anyways...does anyone have ANY idea of what the noise might be or what I might wanna check.

---Thanks ahead a time for your replies!!

Im sorry this isnt going to help you much but i just wanted to let you know so maybe some can help us both out, but im having kinda the same problem with my girls car.

She just bought a 00 Si and its lowered with weapon R sleeves and i cant tell what kind of shocks are on there but anyways when she goes over bumbs, more so over uneven surfaces, we can hear this noise in the back of the car, almost exactly like what you are describing. Hers might be more like a clunking kinda of noise, like it might do it 2 or three times. Its hard to explain. It doesnt rattle like rocks in a can or somthing like that, almost more like somthing is shifting or moving but instead of doing it smoothly it just kinda clunks to wear it needs to go.

Well now that i have made my Intelligent description of what hers sounds like, i hope that can help someone figure out what might be causing these noises.

Default Update!!

Well, I double checked things and it was something simple. Apparently the nuts that came with the shocks that fastens on top weren't on correctly or was but didn't tighten like it was supposed to. The top of all 4 nuts after examining them kinda bend in ...so when you try to tighten it down it goes down so far then stops and starts to turn the shock (polished part) Sooo, what I did was take my original nuts from the factoy shocks and put it on the tokico shock and started tightening. It kept tightening and tightening and finally stopped. It went a LOT farther down the threads on the shock then the nut that came with the shocks did. I went ahead and did that to all 4 shocks and then backed her outta the driveway. Started driving down the road and its smooth and QUIET!! If you could have seen me...that would have been the biggest smile on my face!! Something so simple as that. Geeze. Oh well, I guess I will have to note that in my DIY walkthrough. Lata!
