i just did everything youre doing a month or so ago to my integra. everything is pretty straight forward like its been stated. I did have a problem with the rotor screw, and Josh nailed it with the solution.
I did a couple others such as Fuel filter, thermostat, and o2 sensor. GL bro
If you don't take the distributor off can you just out the new rotor back on - or does one have to set cylinder #1 to TDC and use a timing light and all that? The timing is fine in my car now I'd like to just pop a new rotor on sometime without changing the timing or anything.
You do not have to or really want to remove the entire distributor just to replace the rotor.

Also, changing the rotor does not have any effect on where the timing is set. The position of the distributor does so removing the distributor will basically force you to reset the timing.

Thanks again yall, got my NGK blues in the mail so as soon as they get here I'm doing the tune up. Anything else I should think about replacing that my be bad or old. I got 115K on the car and really only replaced the fuel filter since i got the car at 89K. Think the timing belt was replaced right before I got it. Any suggestions?

also I recommend gaping with the wire style gaping tool instead of the little metal circle style just because the wires are more accurate
edit: I found pics so you can see what the types are in case you dont know. the wire one is a lot easier to use
