When you turn the wheel its pumping fluid to lubricate the turning parts ( forgot name.....drunk right now ) IF not alot of fluid is being circulated around the joints, hinges etc... it will make a grinding noise.
Similar to two pieces of metal being rubbed against each other without some lubricate in between to limit friction.
or your cv joints could be bad.

thats partially correct.. it does lubricate moving parts.. but the main purpose of the power steering pump is to push fluid on a piston.. similar to how your brakes' pistons work.. it pushes to help you turn the wheel.... but if you're drunk then I'll give you a break
awsome i'll check it out thanks guys.... I have one more question though when i take off i here some type of (dun dun dun dun) like goes faster when i excellertate but it eventualy goes away, kidna sounds like what a exahust leak would be, but i don't think it is, i know it's not the belts cuz i got them changed. any suggestions?
If ( dun dun dun dun ) is actually (click click click click) Then CV's... You might just wanna run that thing to the shop & have them look at it.. there are a lot of noises that sound similar.. & without us being able to hear them for our selves.. it's hard to tell ya.. & as far as your power stearing goes.. check the fluid too!

If you just got your belts changed, then it probably IS the belts. They may not be tight enough. Either that, or they're too tight and your power steering pumps bearings are begging for relief. The belts should only have about an inch of deflection at their longest point. Any more than that, they will squeal. Less than that can cause excessive wear on your accessories.
