Default A light when VTEC kicks in?

My girlfriend just bought a 2000 civic Si and i was reading different forums trying to get more familiar with this car because i dont know much about civics. Her previous car was a 99 civic EX auto. This Si is way fun to drive and she is so much happier with it, but anyways to my question....
In another forum someone said that there vtec light didnt come on (they also have a 2000 Si) when the vtec kicked in. I didnt even know this car has a vtec light, but if it does then this cars light doesnt come on either. I was wondering if someone could help me out with this? Is there really a vtec light and if so what my cause it not to come on.
While im at it, i have another question.... We took her CAI off her 99 civic EX (its AEM if that makes a difference) and we were hopin that it would fit on the 2000 Si the engines look like they are pretty much in the same place (like the bending of the pipe shouldnt be a problem) but i dont know if the manifold is different. We were just seeing if we could get away without buyin a new CAI.
Thanx in advance for the feedback!

They added a light that turns on. Really easy to do, but kinda worthless imho so not worth the fuss of doing.

I dont think the 2000 Si's come stock with a VTEC light. Sometimes people like to put one in just to impress their friends and tell them "Oh, thats my VTEC kickin in".

As for the CAI, try it out and check if itll fit.

I would imagine the CAI would fit since the placement of the throttle body is very close to a d-series engine.

cool.... thanks for your imput. I dont see any reason to add a light thats says vtec either, i just wanted to make sure nothing was wrong with the car.

About the intake, i just didnt want to go through the trouble of taking off the factory intake and tryin to put on this one and then finding out it doesnt fit so i have to put the factory one back on until i buy the correct one. But if its goin to save $200 bucks then its worth tryin it out.

Look at it this way, if the CAI doesnt fit, you can always use the stock tube (not sure what its called) and just put a filter at the end. Wallah... you now have a short-ram.

Ok now you guys will really know i dont know what the hell im talkin about when it comes to civics, but i have to ask or i will never learn. When someone said ithe CAI should be close to fitting because the motor is like a d series motor, what does that mean? What series motor is in the 2000 Si? And i take it the 99 EX had a D series motor?
Thanks for puttin up with my dumb questions!
