Default Turbo Question?

How Do you estimate torque on a turbo motor. Lets say the motor is putting about 310hp to the motor and 225-235whp about how much torque would there be? any apon accelleration would it snap your neck back. last what kind of time would it run?

You really cant estimate torque by how much HP it has. But if I had to guess I would say 180 - 200 :dunno:

It all depends:
1. what kind of car (weight factor)
2. good/bad driver

torque and horsepower have nothing to do with each other, torque is not able to be guessed at because some motors actually have more torque then horsepower (american). torque numbers can be changed by tranny, smaller gears yields more torque, wheels also have a bit to do with torque. what it all boils down too is torque is what gets you there, horsepower is what keeps you there.

^ smaller gears only yield more wheel torque, but flywheel torque is dependant on stroke, compression, a/f mix, air temps etc...

It is dependant on rpm's on where the power is, but my guess would be about 210 lbft.

true but i think he would be worried about wheel torque rather than flywheel torque, flywheel torque is nothing, it makes no difference in how fast you get anywhere in your car. wheel torque is the only felt torque, its the only torque that throws you back in your seat.
