I agree it's the R&P, I had that problem..

Do you experience any shifting while driving? Does the wheel move/ have ALOT of play with the car jacked up?

thats the same problem i have on my hatch right damn now. how hard is the sob? shiet, im so frustrated on other shiet on the hatch, i would rather pay someone else to do it.

ball joint inside your steering rack. not too terrible to replace but youre probably going to want to take the rack out. heres some steps on removal and reinstallation of the rack. http://repo.jackmoves.com/album119
