What site are you referring to?

What other info do you want on the Si? Are you talking about a brand new Si, or one from '99-'00? Since you are talking about $17k I assume you are looking new, but buying a '00 could leave you with a lot of $$ for mods.

Ha, the base Cooper outhandles the Si without a doubt. As far as performance, the Si will hold its own. Now the Cooper S is another story, it will roll an EP3 in all aspects. No offense to Honda or any EP3 owner, the Cooper even looks 10X better IMO.

Never said Si could take Cooper.....Remember the Si is n/a and the cooper is boosted. Both are cars i like. When it comes down to power and speed the cooper S has it due to turbo. Handling too.

I would not get either though I would go pick up a new SRT-4 and walk both of them.

If you are paying for it with a loan, go with the S. Yeah, the regular cooper will be cheaper, but for a few extra months worth of payment or a little extra per month (depending on the type of the loan), you'll have a much more fun car. Trust me, you'll regret not getting the S the whole time you are paying off your loan.

SRT-4? Sure, go fast, and wait for your pile of mopar to fall apart. I haven't seen a Dodge made in years that I was impressed with the build quality...

And I thought that BMW was just marketing the copper, not making them, could be wrong.
Still, I'd be all over the Cooper over the si. Better designed platform, already has as much after market support, and it's a Mini! I've loved mini's since I was a kid. Shit, I love CRX's as a kid. That's how I got into cars. But why go new mini when you can import an original mini with a b16 in it cheaper, and still have honda reliability is a lighter chassis?
