It's really not about creating insane amounts of boost, because that can be accomplished by either unit independently (smaller pully/bigger turbo & other factors). The only benefit that I can see from doing both would be something like have a sequential TT setup on a Supra. The SC would allow boost to be created right off the line from very low RPMs until enough pressure has built up so that the turbo can take over. The only problem would be 'telling' the SC to stop creating boost so that the pressure could be regulated.

I've thought about this before I actually owned a turbo and knew what the mechanics of it were.

Not a bad question...

I never really learned the how-to's of cars that have TT and such. But I guess the same principle would work if a car was N/A and wanted a Short-ram and a CAI set up for the intake?

Technically you can put a Turbo, a supercharger and even Nitrous on a motor if you want, but you will need a fat wallet and sh1tload of electronics to control it. But yes it is possible. The thing is though, that a supercharger requires around 30 percent of the engine power to drive it. On a Top Fuel Dragsters 7000 HP engine, it takes the power of a Chevy 454 big block just to drive the super charger. Just a little fun trivia that i picked up.

1st gen mr2's are commonly turbochaged ( on the factory S/C motor). The term they like to use is "twincharged." Makes a lot of power (often upwards of 300whp), but is pretty complicated and hard to maintain.
