Default Update on repeated transmission failure in 2002 LX

Okay, posted about buddy and his commuter ride. They replaced the case, and 1st and 2nd went out again. He bitched to Honda, when the stealership said they were going to charge him for the teardown if they could not find anything wrong. He suggested the shift fork may be a problem, with info I got here(Thanks guys). There is a factory defect in the cases of the 5 speed tranny, that they fixed by machining the area where the shift fork moves forward and back. Now, problem is solved.

Update #2: Turns out they did not solve the problem. He drove the car for 2 days and he stated hanging up going into 1st and 2nd again, boy is he pissed. He talked to some warranty repair rep, who was supposed to dheck how satisfied he was after the first few attempted repairs but the stealership never notifed them. Looks like he will either get a new tranny or take them to court on the lemon law

I would deffinately go for the lemon law as much trouble as he has had out of it.
