Now you know one of the many reasons I will never own an automatic transmission. The thought of transferring over 200 horsepower through five quarts of fluid kind of scares me. I prefer a direct mechanical transfer, thank you.

Toyota and Nissan also has their own blindness to common problems. Although the percentage of replaced Honda auto tranny for their V6 is < .01% of all said V6 automatics Honda has produced that the article said is in suspect, the matter shouldn't be taken lightly if a problem is found. At leastt the owner of the TL-S in the article had his tranny replaced for free.
Already noted, Toyota just recently settled a long fight with a very small percentage of very vocal, affected customers on sludging with the V6. Although, the problem is serious, the number affected at the time was a very small percentage.
Now I wonder, has Nissan resolved the oil burning issue with its 2.5L in the Sentra SE-R/Spec-V and the Altima??????

This really isn't such big news. It's a known common problem like the oil consumption in Nissans. I don't see how one article from a local newspaper is so "BIG NEWS". I mean, I can show a tiny news clip on an already known Toyota problem or Nissan problem from a local paper, but I wont. I'm sure many of us won't. Or at least caps the BAD NEWS part in the title of the topic. I'm not avoiding the issue on Honda's tranny, because I've already recognized its a problem, but its not really newsworthy to put in its own thread other than to demonstrate someone's bias on this board. :fawk:

Actually, not only the auto tranny has problems, some of lude's 5 speed also has problems. My 99 SH lude has a tranny problem and the parts are still in backorder. So, I have to wait for about a month.

I'm wondering how its gonna handle the next TL-S's power. Seriously, the J32 can hit 300hp without a hitch. And i quote (don't quote them please)...
I've heard rumors of the J32 being really un-tapped, so I hope the tranny can keep up with the engine.
I coulda told you that the J32 can get about 30 horsepower with headers.
