Default Tapping noise

I over reved my the motor last week and my Vafc said it hit 9973RPMs. The car still seems to run great and idle is fine. I dynoed it last week and didnt see any kind of loss of power and the air/fuel is running perfect. The car doesnt smoke either but the only thing is that its making a soft tapping noise now. How much damage do u think im looking at?, Im going to take it to the shop monday but I was just curious to know if i was going to be looking a big problem. You think a vavle adjustment is in order?.

Like, do you hear this tapping noise while you're in the car, or out of it with the hood up? I heard a constant tapping noise coming from my engine, but only when I had the hood up and was outside of the car to hear it. I figured I needed a valve adjustment. Did it, double-checked everything twice, and afterwards it still made the tapping noise. Don't really know what to tell ya man!

I would run a compression test just to make sure you didn't float a valve and nick/bend it with the piston a bit. It's easy to do and it will give you piece of mind. A valve adjustment won't hurt either.
