I agree on the post whoring- the cluttering up of the forum with that stuff should definitely stop.

And since we are on the subject of less cluttering, what was the reason to unsticky the "ask simple and basic questions" post? I thought that was a great idea to help unclutter the forum, and unless there was a problem with doing that, I vote to bring it back.

I would add. Can the emoticons. If you are able to write clearly there is no need for smiley asses. Secondly remove the post count under people's names. Unless the number somehow adds creedence to their post, as in, "wow he's posted a lot,he must know what he's talking about".

It is not enough that people take the crap off-line. But that when there is a solution to something it get posted. It is very discouraging to find someone has posted a question to something that of interest to others, and to find the person has circumvented the board entirely by sending a private message and the rest of us are wondering the result of the repair, mod, or just as important the failure of the said fix. Appreciate it. Thanks.

 

I agree with you on canning the emoticons (smilies as we call 'em here). I had a discussion about that with an admin last night actually. I personally favor them, but majority still perfer them. I don'tk now if that's something that will happen anytime soon, I hope eventually they'll be gone.

 

I think the smilies are pretty cool, just a neat little thing to use in the post. I don't think alot of people use them because they can't convey their ideas in words, I just think they liven up the post alittle bit.

 

not that my opinion matters much but here it goes..

ive been here a while and ive seen the board go from a pretty tight regular group who would post often exchange valuable info and kid around a little in the process... there would be little one line jabs here and there.. and no one cared.. but then again that was a time where it was ok to post pictures of my civic in the civic forum (but i guess thats WAY too logical) now its getting WAY crazy with the rules... let me put it into perspective.. ITS JUST A MESSAGE BOARD... when you forget that.. and start going crazy with all this modding and forum changing it stops being fun.. you may think that this will increase the REAL USEFULL info on this site.. but i dont think it will.. there will just be less posts.. because all the old heads will leave because its not the HAN they have come to like.. and all the friggin NOOBs will be too afraid to post... once again im not telling anyone how to do things.. there have been changes that im for and changes im VERY against.. changes that IMHO make the forum BLAH and BORING.. i will hopefully continue to come as often as i can.. answer questions where i can.. but this site is slowly losing that GOOD feeling it used to have...

i thought HAN was always great...and you know what they say.. if its not broke...

 

oc_civic: I argee with you in almost every sense man.
This is a big reason why I don't surf HAN much anymore it's changed from the board I once knew and loved. I spent a lot of time on here reading, surf, posting and helping out those I can, however I've noticed a change lately and I don't like it that much.
I've noticed a lot of boards changing from their old ways lately, not just HAN and I'm starting to lose a lot of the feel I once had for the many great message forums that I surf.

I dont like or agree with alot of the changes to the forums. I know stuff wont change because its not the members choice, this site is privately owned therefore what the owners choose goes.
I used to spend alot of time on HAN having fun and messing around with people. I just dont feel that anymore here. I still come around to check out the forums occasionally and help answer questions when i possibly can but its not like it used to be :happysad:

i must say i concur. there should be a serious tone in this forum, but it should still have a little bit of fun, like making fun of me when i want to buy a knock off mugen oil cap h:
