Default Mini-Me swap (D16Z6 head on my D15B7)

I'm poor, so I can't afford a swap. I do want some more performance though, so I'm considering putting a D16Z6 head on my 92 DX (D15B7 right?). I could really use some help on what exactly I need to buy in order to do the swap. Here's a list I've compiled so far of things I need, if anyone knows of something else I need please reply. Thanks...

1. D16Z6 Head
2. D16Z6 Intake Manifold
3. D16Z6 Distributer
4. P28 ECU (and/or VTEC Controller)

What about belts, gaskets, etc...?

I have a friend that did this. he had an older Civic SI. 89 I think. He pulled his stock head and used the newer vtec one. It pulls ok I guess. At first he had vtec running off a switch he had to turn on and off. it was hilarious.

He did all the work himself (he's leader of the schools motorsports team, just one first place in world competition). I dont think there is much to this head swap.

1st of al u dont have 2 use a d16z6 head you can use any single cam vtec head. i would use a 96 and up ex head d16y8 b/c the combustion chamber is square not round therefor giving u higher compression. u will need a head gasket for your year block, intake manifold from the same head you are using,a wire harness and a vtec ecu. u can try using your stock harness but your gonna have 2 rewire alot of stuff lik o2 sensors, vtec switch etc. i have done this swap with my 96 dx i put a d16y8 head on its a big difference. also b for u put the head on bring it 2 a machine shop and have them mill it. this will increase your commpresion even more.

like how much would everything might cost for a good head swap? from a stock d15b7 head to a vtec d16y8 then? complete with the manifold , mine is a d15b7 with dc headers, air intake nd ngk wires only and its f$# slow.

You dont have to use the same Intake Mani from the same head. The Y8 does have a little bit higher compression, but they both have their plus and minuses. Go with whichever is easier to come across, and cheaper. Either one is good.
