Default climate control issue

Anyone have any idea how I can fix my climate control on my '98 LX. No matter which button I put the climate control on the air still comes out of all the vents. The system will not let me have defrost only, floor only, or dash vents only.

seems like your cables that control the air control doors are disconnected. Do you hear any movements from deep within the dash? The car uses the brake booster for vacum to open/close the doors to direct air to different places. You should be able to hear some noise when you push the different buttons on the climate control. If not, you're going to have to take apart the dash and check out the cables that connect to each of the doors to see what's up.

My Honda mechanic told me yesterday that there is an electronic module behind the dash that controls this. He said they are known to go out. He said that if the individual lights light up as you push the buttone then it is the module. He ordered the part and it should be here on Tuesday.
