Default roof replacement

I dont know if any of you have dealt with this or not. But some info would be appreciated. I am in the process of purchasing a 99 si and the roof is caved in above the windshield. The pillars are still good and the moonroof was not damaged. My question is has anyone replaced a roof before and how diffucult is it. Or has anyone had it done and how much did it cost?
thanks

theres a guy in brookfield who bought a CTR with a trashed roof. basically you pull back the rubber sealant along the top, the rain gutters...sawzall(R) it off...

either pound out the roof or weld a new one on. this isn't a job for the faint of heart. expect to pay near $1000 to have it done professionally.

Im not too sure, but I think replacing the roof may weaken the structural rigidity. If it is only the sheetmetal piece that needs to be disected and replaced, it should be fine.

there will already be clamped joints there, welded joints will be stronger.

you guys worry so much about "structural integrity" of a ****ing roof...theres no strength there to begin with. if your car rolls, youre ****ed.

Just got an interior out of a rolled civic. It wasnt messed up TOO bad. Guy worked at a dealer. Had a new roof for it and everything. He was planning to fix it up but found other plans. If I had the space I could have myself a parts ahtch. Oh well.
