Checking CE light, SRS light flashes

No its not that the ECU is shot, the CEL does come on for a few seconds, and I can start the car...although it doesn't stay/sound wel.. Now, the transmission is whirring so I guess I will check that out. Also, the oil check stem is smoking a bit, and my oil is black, but i just had an oul change around 500 miles ago...

No codes are coming up, that is the problem... but there should be because there IS something wrong.

not necessarily man... just cause you think something's wrong doesn't mean you're going to throw a code. Here's a test for you: unplug your O2 sensor and retest it. If it thows a code for the O2, you know the ECU is working properly regarding CEL diagnostics. :goodjob:
