to each there own. Obviously civics werent made for big rims, but why would companies make bigger sized rims for civics? why do people put 22" rims on Escalades? they aparently werent made for bigger rims. You are correct with the performance factor, so ill agree with you there.

FYI : there are plenty of 17" rims that weigh quite a bit less than 30lbs

as much as I hate my 17's I really didn't lose any performance on the butt dyno. I can tell you that the ride is really friggin harsh. However I want to try and get some 15 or 16 inch bronze rims, don't know what style yet, but I was thinking a bronze rota slip would look good.

the lower the profile of the tire, the faster you'll run into camber wear problems... so a camber kit is a definite plus... the only problem is, with wheels that big, correcting the camber to 0 often leads to the tire hitting the fender... Rolled fenders in the front and aftermarket rear lower control arms (that relocate the hub a couple centimeters inboard) will make more room for the dubs, while allowing you to run camber settings that wont instantly destroy your really expensive 18" tires.

konig heliums are really nice bronze rims and they're only 11.5 pounds....my friend has them on his drag integra and hes really satisfied with them

mine are 10.8 lbs good wheels for my autocross beater, but pretty low quality... I wouldn't rock them on a pimpin/show/picking up jailbait type car. h:

You are better off getting whatever you would like to get. 18" will fit, but they would look a bit un-proportional if you car is very mild. If you do go for 18's, randomtask pretty much said the best advice.

Most people on HAN won't like anything bigger than 15" and non-Rota's. h:

all depends on how you plan on doing it. I have 17's on my car and love the way they look. but thats with a lip kit and lowered. Stock height cars and larger rims look awkward. You can definately fit a 17 or an 18 with few difficulties. Its all up to what you want to do

I personally think 16's are "perfect" for civics as far as looks vs practicality. 17's are a little big and 18's are huge. With 18's you can not get the same rolling circumference anymore also, which will in turn change your speedo readings and gearing.
