Help with swap, 2000 EX
I just need a little, help, which swap will be the easiest, overall? I have a pretty much bone stock 2000 EX with the D16y8. I want to swap my motor with something more powerful, maybe a B16, or B18, I would think the B16 out of a SI would be easiest since honda actually makes it that way, how much harder would a B18 or B20 be? To help, I used to have a 91 NSX, (totaled) and I would like my civic to be as fast or faster. (my best time was a 13.6 1/4) Any help is appreciated. Also if you know where I can buy an engine at a good price I'd love to know. Thanks again.
The easiest would be a taking a si b16a out of a si and dropping it in your car. It would already have ek mounts and wiring harness. I would save for a 1.8l vtec motor, either the b18c1 or even a b18c5. B16's are gutless. Using an integra motor you will need a si rear L bracket and put the d series timing belt mount on the b series motor. You will also need to change the wiring harness. These swaps are all very common and there is tons of information if you search for it.
