not talking shit or trying to turn this into a nitrous thread but why.... its a good inexpensive effective power adder for the entry/mid level enthusiasts who wants more power without the initial out of pocket cost of a full build or turbo...

agreed. the only effort you should put into a D-series is taking it out

prep the motor for boost after you do all the needed maint.
turbo will make more power than any stand-alone swap, cheaper and easier

minor point, but just for everyone's info, the number at the end of an engine code has something to do with export codes or somethin. america is a 1, 3, or 5 (b18c1, b18c5, b20a3 [carbed usdm 3rd gen lude motor], etc.). australia i believe is a 7 (b20a7 if you know your old school lude motors). and japan has no number. thats why all jdm motors are just b18c, b18b, etc.

also, the d16 is a good engine. not as good as any b-series, but for the money you spend on ANY b-series (unless you find a smokin deal) you can get a turbo on the d16 and be runnig faster than the b would stock (even with minimal boost like 5-8 psi). however, b-series swaps are just cool (more so than a turbo imo).

There is nothing wrong with building up a D series motor...I am doing it right now as we speak...You can get serious power out of any motor....As long as you are willing to do some work...I am very happy with my D series engine...It would take more effort to get a swap and then put it in and then build that engine up then it would if you would just build up the D series....But thats just my opinion....
