Default Skunk2 camber kit and alignment.

Here's an interesting question.

I know when you lower your car, it changes the toe settings as well as the camber. I don't know if this is a result of the lowering itself or if it is related to the camber change.

Well, with the Skunk2 kit (adjustable A-arm), if your ride hight remains the same, if you adjusted your camber from 0 to -2.5 or so, would that effect the toe (since the ride isn't changing)?

I'm planning on getting the Skunk2 kit, and my autocross front camber setting is -2.5 or therabouts, but it would be nice if I could drive around regularly (between events) at 0--0.5 camber to save the tires a little. Of course I wouldn't be saving the tires much if I were screwing up the toe (that and it wouldn't be so hot to drive). So thats why I'm asking. Input?

Yes changing camber OR toe will affect the other. It's not a significant amount but if you take it to a shop you want this order done:

1. Corner weigh
2. camber
3. toe

thats funny, civicsiracer ^^^ doesn't seem to have any problems with them.

I know the ball joints are supposed to have a short life-span, but honestly, changing out the balljoints would be less of a hassle to me than adjusting a regular(rotating a-arm mount bushing thingy) camber kit. On top of which, the S2 kit is compatible with Orijin Motorsports (HAN sponsor) solid a-arm bushings, which I plan on running. I've never heard of the arm breaking or bending, just the ball-joints going bad.

Yep so far 1 year on my Skunk2 camber arms and no problems. I did 40'ish autocrosses, 40 laps around the Carlisle Mini road course and about 15,000 miles. Now I do get slamming of the arm on the inner fenderwell and I think the shop that corner weighed my car bent the little slots.

I am upgrading to the SPC front camber arms since they are beefier and easier to adjust.

Skunk2 arms are extensively used with few problems and are one of the best options out there.

People will rag on Skunk2 for damn near anything just based on reputation, even when their products are generally good.

Do they make them for the 5th gen? I'm certainly not a loyal s2 customer or anything, but as far as I know, the s2 kit is the only adjustable a-arm kit for the 5th gen.

actually, that's exactly what the aut-x instructor said.. he bought the spc one because it was a beefier unit..
