wow Bumnah...!

that's a lot of information... sounds like you like the '95 best followed by the '92-94 cars. I will keep your comments in mind if we did look at any Civics. Accord is my 1st choice, followed by the Integra and then the Civic. The Accords I feel a little safer with more body around her... but not as much as a huge, ugly GM car of course!

cheers everyone & thanks again for the replies & info!

Depends on what you want I suppose. I prefer the EG cuase of it's weight (as Bumnah pointed out).

The accords are the fat aunts of the civics... imo. :chuckles:

remember WestCoast...

my daughter will not be racing.. if she does, the car gets pulled. Thus an Accord w/mour mass is more important in my book for a new driver. But I do like the Civic also and that's why it's on our shopping list... just not on the top of it

Enjoy your Civic! doing 12.6's.. not bad! You can run w/the new Vette.. unbelievable!

I don't think anyone pointed this out...
(This is coming from someone who has never worked on an Accord or Integra)
Compared to your BMW and 'Vette, a Civic will probably be VERY easy for you to work on, if you are the type to do your own maintenance/repairs, or plan on teaching/making your daughter do it.

I would pick the car she is more comfortable driving. The Accord has more mass, but a Civic will be more nimble and stop quicker (4 wheel disc models especially).

Either one is quite safe, accident wise. While they're small cars, I can say from experience that they do a good job of protecting the passengers.

but the 4 wheel disc models are all Si's which have the DOHC VTEC (more powerful engine).

personally if i was buying a car for my daughter (if i had one) i would go with a '94-'97 accord coupe. They get comparable gas mileage to civics, have a slightly better safety rating, and are easy to find parts for (not that civics aren't or anything, but accords WERE the bestselling cars from 1994 to 1997).

But either way, you can't go wrong with a honda for a first car

thanks for the latest comments & thoughts...

we are leaning towards a 1994-95 Accord Coupe (due to price range) but we'll see. She is getting anxious and I must get something real soon..... and she has worked since 14 1/2 and has saved money to contribute towards the car.

thanks everyone.... U guys are definitely passionate about your cars, which I can definitely relate to.....

cheers!

92-95 SIs did not have a DOHC VTEC engine.
