id still say nay on the 240s. like i said, there getting way too played out, given you dont see a lot of them, but thats because there hard to come buy. and a lot of them are shit. ill bet anyone that the 240s will become the civic. i personally think it already started.

I have no clue what you're talking about there. Everyone I know wants a Tiburon or a WRX, not a 240. Also, about that 'truck engine' crap, the Accord has the same 2.4l that goes in the Element, does that make the accord have a truck engine?

240SX is a popular car for a reason. Same thing with the Civic. The KA engines are RELIABLE too.

I'm not dissing on the 240's stock engine, but honestly it is a little crude and buzzy. Not at all "silky" or "smooth." However, they ARE reliable and ARE torquey. The fact remains that the engine was developed in the Altima and in trucks and not the 240 - North Americans just didn't get the S13's turbo engines. The KA24E is a truck engine at heart. So I just wanted to note that a lot of people want more, and upgrade it eventually. There aren't many 240s here, either, though...

Even though I suggested Saabs, you're right in that they are reliability nightmares. Something like 85% or 90% of Saab owners are first-time buyers - they get almost no repeat or return owners. There's a shop in Rockville that works on Volvos and Saabs only, and they ended up doubling as a used car sales place because so many customers said "I'm not paying THIS for THAT!"

3000GT is crap without the AWD VR-4...but the n/a 300ZA is a dog too...

None taken. It takes a certain kind of person (half crazy with plenty of free time) to own and love an RX-7.

Besides, they stopped importing them in '95, so a "mid-90's" 94 or 95 model FD will set him back around $10-12k. Not to mention you have to constantly throw money at those things to keep both turbos running.

3kGT's and Stealths are some neat cars, but not something I would ever buy. I've never heard the words "depreciate" and "Stealth" in the same sentance though. Those things still resell for a lot of money around here.

The 240SX is not nearly as "played out" as Civics, either. Not even close. Besides, they're RWD, i.e. they are much more fun.

I would say either a 'lude or a 240, but I guess it's not important anymore.

 

if you are worried about being all played out and what other people think . build a festiva with a shogun kit and a turbo motor in the back the people that dont know will laugh the people that do will be like thats cool i wonder if its real... if you want reliable easy to work on easy to get parts for cheap,, do the lude buy a civic or start mini trucken
