This thread has been jacked!

To the guy who started the thread...
Normally I'm not into swapping a D for a B motor, but since you have a body kit and other bling bling crap, I suggest packing some heat under the hood. A flashy car HAS to be powerful or it IS rice. That's just my opinion though...

Illicon sure is out to piss some people off though huh?

Fiberglass has the advantage of being able to absorb hits, while carbon fiber shatters and splinters under impact. It is also cheaper, you can buy dry fiberglass for less than $10 per square yard. Carbon fiber costs about $80 per square yard, more for prepreg (which looks a lot nicer and is a lot stronger). Carbon fiber is lighter and requires fewer layers to make a stiff part.

Fiberglass doesn't flex very well so it doesn't take hits very well. It is easy to repair though, where alot of other materials aren't (CF and urathane)

Good cf will take a hell of alot more beating then fiberglass.

Look at good CF hoods, they can take a full front on collusion.

Yes but when they do break they shatter and the edges are much more jagged. The edge is like a knife...it will cut through your fingers.

A fiberglass part will not shatter, but has less strength to weight than carbon. The break is much smoother and easier to fix.
